About us

Meet Pastor Thomas
Our Pastor, Rev. Thomas Hall, has been serving in full-time pastoral ministry since June 2000. He is passionate about making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world and equipping the body of Christ to do the same.
Thomas and his wife, Rev. Melissa-Kime-Hall, are lifelong residents of Georgia. They are blessed with three wonderful children, an amazing daughter-in-law, and a beautiful granddaughter. Adding extra joy to their lives are their three cherished fur babies: two dogs, Bo and Braxton, and their cat, Mr. Peaches.
Thomas first sensed the call to pastoral ministry as a youth at Midway UMC in Douglasville. Years later, with the nudge of his pastor at Woodbury UMC, he began taking steps to answer God's call.
Thomas graduated with a B.S. in Communication Arts in 1989 from Georgia Southern University. He began seminary and was licensed as a full-time local pastor in 2000. He graduated with an M.Div. in 2006 from Erskine Theological Seminary and was commissioned as an Elder that same year. Thomas was ordained as an Elder in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2009.
Thomas is United Methodist by conviction. His beliefs have been shaped over time through prayer, study of scripture, Christian tradition, personal experience, and deep reflection. He is always glad to share his story. Concerned by the distractions and divisions that often pull the Church away from its true purpose, Thomas consistently calls the Church back to Christ and its core mission. He carries a deep longing to see Jesus’ prayer for unity fulfilled, urging the Church to embrace the ministry of reconciliation and live fully as ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
Thomas considers it a profound blessing to serve alongside the people of Crossroads UMC, partnering together to make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the City of Conyers, Rockdale County, and the world.

CUMC History
A small group of newcomers in the mill village of Milstead, Georgia formed a church in 1904 which became Milstead Methodist Church. Over the years the church’s primary benefactor was The Callaway Foundation, who owned the local mill.
In the late 1980’s the Milstead church was in decline and a group of church leaders were “at a critical crossroads” looking for God’s guidance as to the future of the church. At the same time, the United Methodist Church, North Georgia Conference’s Office of Church Development, purchased 12 acres of land in north Rockdale County. They agreed to assist this group of church leaders to build a new church on this property.
On June 16, 1991, Milstead United Methodist Church began meeting as Crossroads United Methodist Church.
